Abstract
The Horikawa-River which flows down through the central part of the Nagoya city, is loved by many citizens. However, water pollution caused by domestic waste water, made the river into a “death-river”. In order to get it back to clean river, many efforts were carried out. From one year of the survey results, we can see that the main sources of the pollution are the waste water from municipal water treatment facility, and more efforts will be needed to .make the river clean.
