We experienced a 19-year-old-female case of scapular neck fracture with an ipsilateral scapular spine, scapular body fracture and acromioclavicular dislocation. On June 11th 1999, she had a traffic accide nt. X-rays showed an acromioclavicular dislocation, scapular spine fracture, scapular neck and body fracture on the right side and showed distal clavicular fracture on the left side. There was no sensory disturbance. The motions of the elbows and hands are normal. Surgical treatment was performed in this case. On the right side a plate fixation was performed for the scapula neck fracture with dislocated fragments of the scapular body remained. The fixation of the scapular spine was done with a K-wire and soft wire. The fixation of the acromioclavicular joint was done with screws between the clavicula and the coracoid process. On the left side, a K-wire and soft wire fixation was done for the distal clavicular fracture.
The controversy lies whether repositioning is necessary or if conservative therapy should be recomme nded.
