The stability of prednisolone in Mosteller's preparation, consisting of prednisolone, pchlorophenol, m-cresyl acetate, and camphor, stored in a transparent and stoppered glassbottle at room temperature has been investigated. This preparation was sampled periodically and prednisolone content was determined using a spectrometric technique. The decomposition was easily followed by loss of absorbance as a function of time. It was shown that 10 % decomposition, a criterion for drug stability from pharmaceutical point of view, was observed after 75 days, and that the residue ratio was about 80% after 9 months.
