1. By using the scanning electron microscope, we observed fine structures of the dentinal carious lesion in human permanent teeth (C_4). 2. The following successional carious lesion can be observed with the scanning electron microscope. When dead tracts are formed in the dentinal part, the calicification occur in dentinal tubules (P1. 2a). Then, the decalicification follows to form hollow dentinal tubules (Pl. 1a). Finally, both discoloration and disintegration of carious dentines (P1. 2b) were observed.
