One case of anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL, Ki-1 lymphoma) was analized histologically and immunohistochemically. Histologically the tumor cells proliferated diffusely and appeared cohesive. These cells were large in size with abundant basophilic cytoplasm. The nuclei was large and had a coarse chromatin pattern with several large eosinophilic nucleoli. Bizarre multinucleated giant cells resembling Reed-Sternberg cells of Hodgkin's disease were prominent. Immunohistochemically these tumor cells expressed Ki-1 antigen (Hodgkin's disease associated antigen), interleukin 2 receptor, HLA-DR, MT-1,UCHL-1,MB-1,so ALCL had a heterogenous features. It is very important to distinguish ALCL and ATL, Hodgkin's disease, malignant lymphoma, undifferentiated cancer.
