The Main Committee on Power Generation Facility Codes of JSME has developed and published Codes and Standards mainly for the structural design of mechanical components of nuclear and fossil power plants to ensure safety of people. Many of these Codes and Standards are endorsed by the government regulatory authority and applied to design, construction and operation of the new and existing plants. The Codes and Standards are collective set of up-to-date technologies, and the notes herein this issue tries to introduce these technologies.
