The slip factor of mixed-flow blade-element for fans and pumps, which has not yet been established, is approached from both extremes of Wiesner's slip factor formulation for centrifugal blade-elements and distributed vorticity effects on axial blade-elements. The reasoning yields a reasonable formulation of the mixed-flow slip factor, which gives a consistent description about the exit velocity slips for low-solidity, slightly-inclined blade-elements.
