To improve tube-side heat transfer coefficients of air-cooled heat exchangers in air-conditioners, internal spiral-grooved tubes have been put to use in place of plain tube. In this report, local evaporating heat transfer coefficients have been measured for internal spiral-grooved tube with refrigerant R22. Experimental results show that the local heat transfer coefficients are estimated by and the reason why there is little dependence on quality is due to the effects of grooves. Further discussions will be developed in following paper.
