The purpose of the present study is to clarify the pump performance of a vibration pumping system, and to obtain some quantitative fundamental design data. The experiment using a 20 mm inner diameter pipe-electrodynamic shaker system revealed that the flow rate increased with increasing input amplitude and a maximum was determined by varying the input frequency. in this system, the maximum flow rate was obtained at 30∼35 Hz and the maximum efficiency was about 36%. It was also found that this pump could be operated over a wide range of flow rates while the head was low. It seems to be possible to make a simpler pump of high performance by improving the driving device.
