The numerical simulation of a spray flow is very useful for the efficient designs of atomizers and combustors. It is pointed out that the initial conditions of spray drops, such as drop velocity, drop size, drop size distribution and atomization rate have a considerable effect on the numerical results. But these spray characteristics in the vicinity of an atomizer are hardly obtained. In this paper, spray flows issued from the air blast atomizer were calculated using the spray characteristics in the vicinity of the atomizer obtained in the previous paper. The calculations are almost coincident with the measurements except the drop mass flux and in the region very near to the atomizer. For the radial distribution of drop mass flux, the calculations show sharper distributions than the measurements, and the calculations underestimate the drop dispersions. In the vicinity of an atomizer, the calculations of fine drop velocity are larger than the measurements. And in order to predict the spray characteristics in the vicinity of an atomizer more precisely, the precise numerical model of a liquid disintegration mechanism is necessary.
