This paper is aimed at proposing a method of dynamic response analysis by combining experimental data with the step-by-step integration technique. The objective structures are supposed to be divided into two parts : a part which it is possible to analyze, and a part which it is difficult or impossible to analyze. In the proposed method the step-by-step integration technique in the large matrix method or in the incremental transfer matrix method is applied only to the part which it is possible to analyze, and experimental data are used in place of the part impossible to analyze. The necessary number of experimental data are adopted to compensate for the lack of the number of boundary conditions which are yielded by the part which it is impossible to analyze. Several numerical results were obtained by the method in beam and frame structures. The validity and the effectiveness were confirmed through those results.
