The oversupply of lubricant oil is a key problem in the manufacturing shops which intend to reduce an industrial waste. Therefore the very low flow rate supplying of the lubricating oil such as10μL/h is required. To meet this requirement and insure a reliable operation on site, the closed loop control system is proposed here. As an adjustable element, electrostatic pumping which has no moving parts is studied with typical commercial oil without any additive. And to subdivide the droplet size from nozzle tip to nano-litters of volume, electrostatic force is also applied. To measurethe low flow rate such as 10μL/h, the volumetric flow rate is estimated with the growing speed of thedroplet at the nozzle tip by using an optical fiber pair to detect the top position of spherical droplet. To secure the measuring cycle, the droplet subdividing is carried intermittently and the adjusting level of the pump is held between each measuring period. A prototype model is tested. Thecontrolled flow rate at 50μL/h is governed within 10% of fluctuation.
