This paper introduces the application of TopBrane products as additives to ink receptive coatings for ink-jet printers. The TopBrane additives can be used to enhance the printing quality and to improve the drying speed of printed images. The coagulation process of coating pigments is controllable through the interactions of TopBrane additives with pigments, and results in the formation of porous coating layers which improve the printability. Furthermore, the TopBrane additives make contribution to reduce the coating viscosity and enable to use the coating pigments in a higher concentration. Therefore, the TopBrane additives are expected to provide more efficient runnability and overall cost savings of coating process operation.
