Synthesis, Structure and Properties of Acene-Annelated p-Terphenoquinone Derivatives

Abstract

We have been studying on the relationship between the non-planarity of extended quinones and their properties. We here report synthesis, structure and properties of acene-annelated p-terphenoquinone derivatives. These compounds possess similar steric hindrance, but different electronic structures. In this context, the relationship between their structure and properties would be interesting. We found significant difference of spectroscopic properties on their dianion states.
