Abstract
[3.3](3,9)carbazolophane derivatives have been prepared as a model compound of excimer or cation radial-excimer in Poly(N-vinylcarbazole).Their structures would be rigid enough to prevent the conversion of carbazole ring, which suggests the presence of enantiomer. Partially-overlapped [3.3](3,9)carbazolophane-derivatives such as sulfonamide and cyanamide derivatives have been synthesized and optical resolution of each carbazolophane has been carried out by using chiral column. Chiroptical properties of each enantiomer has been examined by CD spectrum and absolute structure of sulfonamide enantiomer was disclosed by X-ray structural analysis.
