Abstract
A dipyrrin zinc complex is known to be fluorescent, however, its fluorescent quantum yield is generally inferior to corresponding boron complex (BODIPY). Here we report the synthesis of heteroleptic bis(dipyrrinato)zinc complex bearing two dipyrrin ligands with different excitation energies. We also report that 1 showed extremely high fluorescent quantum yield (0.92) in toluene solution, which was superior to corresponding homoleptic bis(dipyrrinato)zinc complexes 2 and 3.
