Sprays of both 0.013% nicotine sulfate and 0.006% Dimilin ® controlled the population of apple golden leaf miner in low level. Toxicities to the parasites were negligible.
In low concentration from 0.005% to 0.025%, cartap was also effective in control of the leaf miner without toxicity to the parasite, Holcothorax testaceipes Ratzeburg, but it was toxic to two species of lady beetles and caused heavy injury on leaves when applied to Delicious apple tree.
