Abstract
In rats maintained on fat and vitamin Be, double deficient diet, 1-C14-linoleic acid was administered and the incorporation into the fatty acid of liver phospholipid was chronologically determined. Specific activities were smaller than normal in dienoic, trienoic, and polyenoic fatty acids. However, the specific activities of saturated fatty acids and monoenoic fatty acid was not much different from normal. Vitamin B6, therefore appears to participate in the unsaturation of linoleic acid in liver phospholipid. However, vitamin B6 does not appear to participate in the saturation of linoleic acid.
