Abstract
Recently we have treated 5 cases of remarkable ptosis of gallbladder. Moreover, 7 cases in whom the lower edge of the gallbladder reached the 4th lumbar vertebra complained of the same symptoms with the former. Below are given reports on these 12 cases.
The majority of these cases had also the ptosis of other visceral organs such as stomach, liver, kidney, etc. with tendency of body weight loss and low blood pressure. Symptoms, clinical course and results of laboratory examinations resembled those of dyskinesia of the bile duct, and therapy for dyskinesia had effect on many cases of this disease. It was consequently assumed that ptosis of gallbladder and dyskinesia of bile duct would have intimate relation, and that the former would easily be complicated with the latter. In the treatment of this disease, not only local therapy for the bile duct, but also systemic one inclusive of psychotherapy is considered necessary.
