Abstract

For the past 6 years we have cultivated 322 strains isolated from cases of trichophytia in our clinic. Microsporon japonicum was isolated from all of 35 cases with trichophytia superficialis capillitii, Trichophyton asteroides from 4 with kezion celsi, and 236 strains of Tr. purpureum, 22 strains of Tr. asteroides, 3 strains of Mic. japonicum and each 11 strains of Tr. interdigitale and Epidermophyton inguinale from several other clinical types of trichophytia superficialis.
The comparison of these with the results obtained during the preceding 9 years revealed a noteworthy fact that the number of cases of Tr. purpureum and Ep. inguinale increased.
