Abstract

Information education in elementary schools is developed focusing on "the ability of practical information use". However, with the progress of advanced information technology in today's society, children are able to perform activities, such as reference, dispatch, etc. on Web pages, and opportunity to deal with information is increasing. In order to deal with information appropriately, it is necessary to master rules and manners. In this paper, in order to cultivate "an attitude which takes part in an information society", information morals and moral education are related to one another. The contents of study are also clarified. Specifically, a unit of the 5th grade called "importance of privacy" is taken up as contents of study, and one example of lesson practices which aim at the training of information morals is shown.
