Storage and Utilization of Digital Images in Museums

－A Case Report from Tokyo National Museum－

Abstract

　Storing and managing images of museum collections are essential for both internal curatorial work and external service. This report firstly reviews history of image management at Tokyo National Museum from its foundation in 19th century，including recent process of digitization. Secondly，author introduces some databases and released websites of the collection images，prospecting near future issues related to public open-data policy.
