Abstract
This paper traces the developments of campus network systems connected to the Internet in Niigata university and it's attached schools. Vased on various experiences gained from educational use of our campus network systems, we conclude that the more frequently students use the internet in daily life, the more they cultivate Information applications and information literacy. Furthermore, we briefly introduce the current status of K12(from elementary school to high school) in Niigata prefecture where the growing numbers of schools are connecting the internet by mean of PPP(Point to Point Protocol) connections. Althoug the limmited situation of dialup IP connections, they get many successful results and rich prospects for future progress of the educational applcations of the internet. We also seriously propose that every public sectors should be connected by the public-internets in order to improve the Information Literacy of all Japanese children, pupiles and students.
