Abstract
Affinity purification of biomolecules which is essential for the breakthrough of biological science, can be assayed by using gel columns. However, the target materials obtained by the gel column method did not obtain high purity and the capture process wasted much time. So we constructed the non-porus particles which had large surface areas by soap-free emulsion polymerization for affinity purification. The diameter of obtained particles was about 200 nm. Then we immobilized the DNAs, peptides, proteins and biomimetic substrates such as the drugs onto these particles and purified the target proteins bound to these particles. We picked up some significant topics about affinity purification. We also report the preparation of ferrite-polymer hybrid nanoparticles for magnetic separation and the affinity purification by using the polymer nanoparticles included in ferrite.
