Abstract
Polysilsesquioxane having succinimide structures (SIPSQ), the remaining silanol groups of which were trimethylsylilated, was newly prepared. For providing amphiphilic and thermoresponsive properties, SIPSQ was used for the reaction with hydrophilic amines such as 2-hydroxyethanol, 2-methoxy ethylamine, and 2-ethoxyethylamine. The obtained PSQs containing the hydrophilic amino components showed amphiphilic properties. In the case using 2-ethoxyethylamine, the PSQ derivative was provided with thermoresponsive properties which showed a lower critical solution temperature in an aqueous solution and an upper critical solution temperature in a nitromethane solution.
