Abstract
For the water sorption of polymers, an intimate relation has been found between the water sorption energy (ΔE) and water correlation time (τc) measured by FT-IR and NMR, respectively: τc=A exp (BΔE). This reveals that FT-IR and NMR observe the static and dynamic phenomena due to the intermolecular interaction between polymer and water molecules.
