Abstract
Poly (butylene terephthalate) (PBT) was blended with a very small amount of aminobenzoic acids (AMA) in a 20mm single screw extruder. The melt viscosity of the extruded molds was mitigated by the addition of AMA, although their intrinsic viscosity, mechanical properties, and thermal properties were similar to those of each original PBT. AMAs were thus found to be excellent additives for improving the molding processability of PBT.
