香粧品―夢を追い，現実を見つめる―

抄録

The 40 years history of Japanese cosmetic and Japanese Cosmetic Science Society was summarized. There were some problems in safety of cosmetics so that 11 scientists in closely related areas of cosmetic founded the society. The cosmetics were improved in both safety and efficacy through progress of biology, evaluation methods and so on in 40 years. However, the hurdles of safety and efficacy become higher and higher, it is hard to clear them. Our mission is further progress in cosmetic science through discussion about the direction of cosmetic as well as new researches.
