Mosaic diseases of bouvardia, Bouvardia sp., are occurring widely in Izu Oshima Island, Tokyo. A virus was isolated from these diseased plants. The virus was identified as cucumber mosaic virus (serotype Y or P) based on host reaction, aphid transmissibility, serorogical relationships, and other properties.
