Abstract

The food or food system is a foundation to sustain our life or activities. On the other hand, several impacts for global environmental issues are caused by production, processing, transport, and consumption of food were reported. The education of food systems including impact on global environmental problems and life cycle thinking (LCT) is important for facilitating transition to sustainable food systems including consumption. This article reports issues to introducing LCT-based environmental education to food education at the school, from questionnaire survey. And, it introduces a learning material of LCT, process chain and indirect material consumption of food systems, based on food loss.
