Description of a new Nemophora species from China (Lepidoptera: Adelidae), with key to species of the sichuana species group

Abstract

Nemophora zheduoshana Liao, Hirowatari & Huang sp. nov., from a high mountainous locality (4,200 m) in Sichuan, China, is described. The adult and male genitalia are presented. This new species is closely related to N. sichuana and the three species from China, which we propose naming the N. sichuana species group, but it can be distinguished by several characters on the forewings, abdomen, and the genitalia. A checklist for the sichuana species group, and keys based on adults and the male genitalia, are also provided.
