A record of a hairstreak butterfly Chrysozephyrus hisamatsusanus at the northern foot of Mt. Fuji, Yamanashi Prefecture, and long-distance dispersal

Abstract

The carcass of a female hairstreak butterfly Chrysozephyrus hisamatsusanus (Nagami & Ishiga) was found at the northern foot of Mt. Fuji, which is east of the current eastern distributional limit of the butterfly. I discuss the dispersal ability and potential of range expansion in this species.
