Abstract
The advent of the language laboratory has been marking a new phase in the teaching of foreign languages. In the metropolitan circle of a lot of junior and senior high schools have now been equipped with the language laboratories. Through the teaching in the language laboratory, we are faced with various problems to solve. How can work in the laboratory be integrated with the rest of the language teaching programs? Which teaching techniques are best suited to cultivate four skills in the laboratory? What difficulties are likely to arise in the solution of these problems? On the other hand, the Ministry of Education has published the New Course of Studies stressing the importance of language activities. On this occasion we attempt to research on these problems.
