Abstract

Application of logistics is now urgently required among Japanese enterprises, which are preoccupied with various problems to be solved in the area of physical distribution.
These problems stem from the enterprises aiming that physical distribution ought to be the 3rd source of corporate profit. This belief is rooted in the physical distribution stucture in the Showa 40's, and the enterprises should get rid of the purposes mentioned above.
To overcome the situation affected by the above purposes, the introduction of concepts such as “Strategic development of customer service” “Structuring of integrated system among related departments” and “Structuring of integrated system among companies concerned” is particularly needed and indispensable.
