Speckle Reduction in Holographic Display

Abstract
A speckle reduction approach in holographic display is introduced. Speckle occurs when a coherence light is diffused by a rough surface object and leads to image quality degradation in holographic reconstruction. We demonstrated speckle reduction using a low-coherence hologram synthesis to improve the digital holographic reconstruction and show the numerical simulation results of speckle reduction by the proposed approach.
