In Gunma Prefecture, GTFS-JP was announced, and the demonstration experiment
of the bus location system started in December 2019. It is assumed that the introduction of
the bus location system will change the behavior of passengers waiting for the bus at the
bus stop. The purpose of this study is to analyze the changes in the behavior of passengers
waiting for buses at bus stops by using the service provided by the bus location system, using
videos captured automatically and a person detection/tracking system. As a result of the
analysis, it was confirmed that the bus waiting time was reduced by installing the bus
location system. In addition, it was found that the passengers waiting for the bus tended to
come to the bus stop after the actual departure time was approaching. The bus location
system reduced the waiting time for the bus and contributed to waiting for the bus calmly.
