Ni and Cu have been epitaxially grown on (001)Fe by vacuum evaporation. The orientation relationship between the deposits and substrate is given by the Nishiyama-Wassermann relationship of (001)Fe//(011)fcc. The Ni deposits exhibit the double hexagonal closed packed structure at a substrate temperature of 373 K . In the case of copper, the Bain relationship is observed in addition to the Nishiyama-Wassermann relationship. The results are explained in terms of the misfit at the interface between the two phases.
