Sodalite membranes were prepared by secondary growth method. The effect of different composition of synthesis solution, hydrothermal temperature and synthesis time were studied. Under optimized synthesis conditions, sodalite membranes with thickness of 2 ~ 5 m were formed on the outer–surface of tubular supports. Membrane quality was examined by pervaporation at 348 K with ethanol and iso-propanol solutions as feed. Influence of feed composition was also studied. Sodalite membranes showed water–selective permeation in all the conditions studied. Higher selectivity was obtained in the dehydration of iso-propanol solutions and showed a maximum selectivity of 131.
