Abstract
Zeolite membranes have already been used commercially because the membranes show excellent separation and permeation properties for alcohol dehydration and carbon dioxide separation with great stability. In this review, we present previous reports of membrane reactors that combine chemical reactions and zeolite membranes to promote the formation of target products, as well as the promotion of transesterification reactions using methanol permselective zeolite membranes. The establishment of membrane utilization technology combined with useful reactions is important for the further expansion of applications of zeolite membranes.
