The sentence-end variants of the 11 chapters from "Kiritubo" to "Hanachirusato" account for 9.8% of the entirety of the Aohyoshi-lineage text. The sentence ending disappears or becomes a different part of speech 2.4% of the time. This means that 90.2% of the sentences in the Shinpen Nihon koten bungaku zenshu edition of the Genji monogatari end in exactly the same way as those of the Aohyoshi family of manuscripts, and 97.6% are almost the same. In the case of the Meiyurinmo-bon and Teika-bon manuscripts, 96% are exactly the same and 99% are almost the same. The Shinpen Nihon koten bungaku zenshu text of Genji monogatari is a reliable collation. Therefore, it is clearly worthy of use as an accessible text for researching expressions.
