Abstract

The 56th Symposium on Powder Technology, hosted by the Hosokawa Powder Technology Foundation, took place on September 3, 2024, at Grand Cube Osaka in a hybrid format with nearly 250 participants attending. The theme was “Powder Technology and its Applications for Advanced Manufacturing Processes,” featuring six lectures, including the 2023 KONA Award presentation to Emeritus Prof. Wiwut Tanthapanichakoon, the first Asian (excluding Japan) recipient. Lectures covered submicron- and nanoparticle technologies, 3D printing, AI in material development, powder property measurement and industrial applications such as MLCC energy devices and carbon materials. The event concluded with a lively discussion and a closing address by Hosokawa Micron Corporation President Kohei Hosokawa, followed by a social gathering. The 57th symposium will be held in Tokyo.
