Abstract
Following the taxonomy of the kingdom Fungi, comprehensive polyamine analyses of mushrooms, molds, filamentous fungi, yeasts, and microsporidia were conducted in No. 2, and polyamine distribution profiles of 547 fungus species (453 mushroom species, 20 mold species, 31 filamentous fungus species, 42 yeast species, 1 microsporidia species) were catalogued. Their diversity, similarity, and identity among the fungi are discussed. Mushrooms as functional foods and foods fermented by molds, filamentous fungi, and yeasts can be better understood by these polyamine analyses.
