The expansive stress of non-explosive demolition agent depends strongly on curing temperature, and the generation of expansive stress extremely delayed at low temperature. So the agent used at low temperature should be prepared to have high hydration velocity. In producing process of the agent for low temperature, the chemical composition strongly affects the hydration properties of the agent. So, in this paper the influence of chemical composition on the properties of the agent for low temperature was examined. The results are as follows.
1) The hydration velocity and generation of expansive stress became larger with higher HM. But blown-out shot was apt to occur.
2) The hydration velocity and generation of expansive stress became smaller with higher SM. But expansive stress developed afterward.
3) The hydration velocity and generation of expansive stress was extremely delayed at initial stage with lower IM. But the development of expansive stress afterward became larger and danger of blown-out shot decreased.
4) The hydration velocity and generation of expansive stress became smaller, as dosage of CaSO4 was larger.
5) The optimum chemical composition of the agent for low temperature was assumed to have about 17 HM, 3-4SM, 1-1.5IM and 1-1.5% of CaSO4 dosage.
