Abstract
The Shanghai Hua Hsing Commercial Bank Dormitories, a representative of the prewar works of Kunio Mayekawa Architects, was displayed in the "Designing Houses - Masterpiece House from NAMA’s Collection 1940–1975" (December 14, 2021 to March 13, 2022) held by the National Archives of Modern Architecture. In preparation for the exhibition, the collection materials were analyzed and scrutinized. The purpose of this paper is to summarize the findings obtained at that time to use as a useful basic material for the future research. In particular, the following points became clear.
1) By examining the date of the drawings investigated was when the square shape was changed to the C shape.
2) The characteristics of the five dwelling unit types were confirmed concretely in the drawings.
3) Clarified are some features regarding the scale of drawings and the characteristics of how to draw.
