This paper attempted to classify profitable small- and medium-sized companies and to elucidate the factors in corporate success through visualization. The aim was to contribute to the development of industrial promotion measures taking advantage of the features of such classification, and to the establishment of management strategy. I started by using high and low ordinary income rates, which can be considered an objective evaluator of sound financial positioning and of the results of technology and innovation, in order to investigate whether there is a statistically significant difference between management strategies. I then set up a null hypothesis stating that those companies with ordinary income rates of 10% or more are blue-chip companies. I furthermore created visualized profiles of blue-chip companies by using statistical methods to categorize small- and medium-sized manufacturing companies according to self-evaluations by management regarding their strategic outlook.
