Workshops have become established as a concrete means of eliciting public participation, and appropriate practices and methodologies have been accumulated. In this study, we focused on the interlocutor and theme of workshops to clarify the actual situation. Results indicate that the quantity and quality of community development workshops have changed since the mid–2000s, and that the design of dialogues differs in each field.
