This study examines Touristship, a travel awareness initiative that encourages responsible behavior among travelers, and explores its potential contribution to sustainable tourism. Touristship promotes voluntary behavioral change rather than relying on regulations and helps travelers recognize their responsibilities to destinations and local communities. By fostering respect, contribution, and interaction, it can strengthen visitor–resident relationships and help mitigate tourism-related conflicts. It also provides an accessible framework for responsible tourism and supports mutual benefits for tourists, local residents, and tourism businesses. Consequently, Touristship may contribute to the long-term sustainability of tourism by bridging travelers and host communities.
