The genocide of Jews during World War II is disgusting memory that they cannot be dispelled in the European societies. The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe was established in Berlin 60 years after World War II. The German people have very strong and often conflicting feelings about how the Holocaust should be remembered, so they had to go through a political tangles to launch the memorial. In France the expositions about the genocide in the Resistance and Deportation History Center and the Museum of the Orders of Liberation are different. The atonement for the persecution is put together with the memory of the glorious victory of the Resistance. History museums are “the places of the co-memory" for each societies. However, they select the memories and edit the “History” that they want to keep. Historical museums are created through political conflicts.
