Solar photovoltaic (PV) technology could be recognized as power generation as well as energy conservation because PV can decrease the peak demand of electricity in the household and therefore PV will mitigate the fossil fuel consumption. The current issues for PV are dispatchability and relatively high cost. The stabilization of the power generation could be realized by integrating various renewable energy sources with a smart grid technology. A variety of PV technologies has been developed and the market will be shared on the basis of the adaptation of each technology depending on applications. A printing technology has played an important role in crystalline silicon solar cells, and will do so for thin film solar cells and organic solar cells.
