This paper describes how “workflow management system”, running in a printing company, is working and how it has been designed to meet their needs. The topics are focused on how to improve the productivity of all jobs in a factory including that of supporting staff. The modern printing factory is highly automated, then only a few people can run the computerized factory. On the other hand, pre-press still needs many people to finish each plate for printing machines while pre-press adopts DTP with computers. Pre-press has many problems and each printing company has different problem. The most of problems are caused by the production manner, facilities they have, the kind of product, relation between their clients and etc. In this sense, each factory needs different solution and the “workflow management system” would have different roll in production. Analyzing a balance between effect and cost for running the system is the most important approach to build the system.
